Since
1966, architects and builders have specified more than 4 million different roof
and floor truss designs engineered by Alpine and its divisions. Alpine,
Clary or Lumbermate trusses are used in one of every five homes being built in
the U.S. today.
That's
because architects and builders know they can rely on cost-efficient,
high-quality engineered trusses for single and multi-family homes, and
commercial, industrial, and agricultural structures.
Alpine supports
truss manufacturers with the industry's largest and most experienced truss
engineering team, comprised of more than 135 engineers and computer technicians
(including 28 Professional Engineers).

Fire
Retardant Wood
Fire protection for life
and property is an important consideration in the design and construction of new
buildings. Alpine's FR-System Assemblies offer unique and economical design
solutions that meet fire resistance requirements of the building codes.
FR-System assembly designs include wood trusses with gypsum wallboard ceilings.
Roof-ceiling and
floor-ceiling assemblies are fire resistance rated as a result of full
size tests performed to ASTM Standard E-119. There are several code certified
agencies that are equipped to perform these tests to the specific requirements
of the Standard. With a uniform test for all types of products and combinations,
a relative time rating is obtained for each type of assembly. These ratings for
designs are the basis for meeting code requirements and writing construction
specifications.
